REVIEW: The Pecute Pet Backpack Carrier

The purrfect catpack exists, and it won’t break the bank–or your back!

Since I am always on the go, one of the hardest parts of leaving the house is leaving my best friend behind. Whether it’s a quick sprint around the block or a walk in the park, I wanted to be able to take him with me without worrying about his safety since there are so many dogs (and ticks) around this time of year.

The great thing about the Pecute Pet Backpack Carrier is that not only is it sturdy, but it includes pockets on each side–one that is perfect for your water bottle, and the others you can insert treats and potty bags!

One thing to note upon unpacking the carrier is that you have to peel the plastic off of the entire inner and outer ‘windows’ of the backpack and the plastic peels off like crazy! Before you know it, you WILL have a pile of plastic shreds ready to make their way into the trash. BUT! The real fun is that you can now leave the house with your furry friend, and the straps are very comfortable–you can also strap the pack around your waist!

The backpack is very sturdy and has four-sided viewing windows, with a mesh screen at the top that can be opened. But be sure to use the provided leash clip so your kitty does not become an escape artist! It also has a soft, flat bottom that will not move, slip around, or bend.

When I took my mini-Maine Coon Bentley on a walk to the park, he fit in purrfectly for a small kitty. However, he is only about 10 lbs, and it would not be very easy to get a larger or heavier breed to withstand the tight squeeze. This would be perfect for a smaller cat or kitten, a smaller dog breed, or a bunny.

After we made our way to the trail, I noticed he was panting a bit, even though it is heavily ventilated. So make sure if you decide to go out with this backpack on, that it is not in the dead of summer or a very hot climate if your furry friend has a lot of floof!

The bonus, which was quite a surprise, is that the backpack has an expendable area in the back that you can pull out using a handle, giving your kitty more spacious room to chill like a mini-pen! In all, it’s a great backpack for a smaller kitty or pet, and would make a great asset for your outdoor adventures *and flights! I definitely recommend the Pecute Pet Backpack Carrier!
